Day with(out) Art

My performance/installation was offerings/meditating on people who had died of AIDS, and more recently of Covid-19. Peoples names were said allowed, some people told me names of loved ones, and some people worked the braids on their own. I wove the tubes from the top of the column, down to connect with the community’s quilt, called “Touched,” (over 600 people sewed 16″x16″ together!) for the 24hrs. It was actually 18 hours for me. Two weeks prior I had Covid-19, and I needed a break. Thank you to many bike shops for the broken tubes, especially Bikes Not Bombs.
